Frequently asked questions
Can I use OpenSkill for free?
Yes. Individual developers can browse, install, and publish public skills at no cost. The CLI is open source and always free. You only pay when you need team features like private registries and audit enforcement.
What counts as a seat?
Each member of your organization counts as one seat. This includes owners, admins, editors, and members. Auto-joined users via email domain also count toward your seat limit.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. When you downgrade to Free, your org retains existing members (up to the 10-seat limit) but loses access to private skills and audit policy enforcement.
What AI agents are supported?
Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, OpenCode, Antigravity, Kiro, Warp, OpenClaw, and the generic Agents spec. The CLI auto-detects which agents you have installed.
Is the CLI open source?
Yes. The CLI (osk) is MIT-licensed and published on npm. You can inspect every line of code. The marketplace platform is the hosted service that powers team features.
